First stop, Kilauea National Wildlife Refuge, saw the lighthouse and all the birds – frigatebirds, albatross, shearwaters and Red Footed Boobies.
Although we started to go to Hideaways Beach, no one was ready to walk the trail so we opted for lunch and beachplay at Hanalei Bay – nice waves for boogieboarding and pretty.
Afterwards we checked out the beach recommended as “best boogieboarding” beach on the island, Kealia Beach. Good waves and many people boogieboarding as well as surfing. (Nice but after playing out in the surf with the turtles it was hard to compare)
Awesome dinner night, Ash’s acquaintance brought us fresh opakpaka which baked up nicely serving us a wonderful feast for the last night on Kauai.
