Day 3

Monday, September 8th

Visited Allerton Gardens part of the National Tropical Botanical Gardens including the largest collection of native Hawaiian flora and federally listed endangered plant species.

Remember Lawai Bay and the Moreton Bay fig trees(of Jurassic Park fame) as well as all the ginger and heliconias and plumeria

Afterwards visited and ate our lunches at the Spouting Horn Blowhole

After lunch it was beachtime. First Poipu Beach and then later moved a little ways down to Brennecke’s Beach where the boogieboarding was awesome and then became even more so when the green sea turtles swam into the surf along with the boogieboarders.

(Personally, I’ll never forget the sea turtles raising their heads out of the water within arm’s distance in the water and then two of them swimming together through the surf.)

Way Cool!
